Houston is a Problem

In a wild NBA weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder won the franchise's first-ever championship, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles, and Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. As crazy as it sounds, the Durant news felt more important to me as an NBA fan than Game 7. The Thunder felt like a team of destiny all playoffs long, and after Haliburton went down, it all but solidified they’d become champs. But this article is focused on the next chapter of KD's career in H-Town. Yesterday afternoon, while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Kevin Durant found out he had been traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, five second-round picks, Jalen Green, and NBA “villain” Dillon Brooks. (image via theringer.com) This marks the end of the big three of Booker, Beal, and Durant in Phoenix—yet another failed superteam on KD’s résumé. But this move to Houston feels different. Durant, who admitted Houston was at the top of his preferred destination li...

NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025

DOM'S NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025 (Image via NFL.com) 1. Tennessee Titans:   Cam Ward- QB, Miami  The Will Levis experiment in Tennessee failed last season, which led to the Titans holding the first overall pick in the draft. The team needs a QB, and Ward is the best one available. Although he may be a bit of a project, Ward has the intangibles to become a star QB in this league. I love his confidence and composure in the pocket, as well as his elusiveness when he gets free. An A+ pick for the Titans. 2. Cleveland Browns:   Travis Hunter- WR/CB, Colorado Hunter might be the best prospect the NFL has ever seen. Not only is he an elite wide receiver, but he has also become one of the top shutdown corners in all of college football. Although it's still uncertain which position he'll be drafted as, he is worthy of a top-five pick, regardless. I think he...

Top 3 Rookie QB Seasons Ever

As a Giants fan, I've been diving deep into research on which quarterback in this year's upcoming draft has the potential to become a star in the NFL quickly. This curiosity led me down a rabbit hole of great rookie quarterbacks, and I started looking back at some of the best rookie seasons in NFL history. So let's look at the top three that impressed me the most.  3. Dan Marino, Miami Dolphins (1983) Marino threw for 2,210 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions during his rookie campaign. After the starter, David Woodley, struggled in the first five weeks of the season Majaydrino took over and went 7-2 in nine starts. The Dolphins went on to go 12-4 during the regular season, winning the AFC East. After earning a first-round bye, they lost in the divisional round to the Seattle Seahawks. Had Marino played the whole season he likely would be higher on my list, and although the 20 TDs in 9 starts is impressive, it’s not as spectacular as what the other two guys ...

Boston Massacre Part 3

Following an embarrassing blowout loss in Cleveland against the number one seed Cavaliers on Friday, the Knicks had another opportunity to prove they could be contenders yesterday afternoon in Boston. The Celtics continued their domination of the Knicks with a 118-105 win in a game that was never really close. This game felt like more than just a tired team on a road trip, it felt like a team that was intimated. As most of you know, over the summer New York gave OG Anunoby a massive 5 year $212.5 million deal to remain a Knick and sent five first-round picks to the Nets for Mikal Bridges in an attempt to take the team to the next level. Going into the season I had called the Knicks roster the ‘Anti-Celtics’, with the Knicks bringing in defensive wings to stop the C’s duo of Tatum and Brown it appeared they were constructing a team specifically to take down the champs. So far this season this couldn’t be further from the truth as Bridges and Anunoby have both fallen s...

a defense of the new york giants

With Saquon Barkley running wild in the City of Brotherly Love, and the Giants sitting at the bottom of the league's standings, the G-Men have been getting a ton of flack on social media and from talking heads on TV. And yes when the star of your team goes to the division rival for nothing in return that's not exactly a good thing, but even with that said the bashing of the New York Giants has become too much.  GM Joe Schoen's decision has been criticized time and time again for this mistake, which was highlighted in HBO's Offseason Hard Knocks. The special took viewers inside the life of an NFL GM displaying how teams make free agent signings and draft picks in the offseason. In one of the show's viral moments, Schoen calls Barkley to get him to sign back with NY. An unenthused Barkley was cordial but had his mind set elsewhere. The now infamous clip pans to Giant's owner John Mara who says "I'll Have a Tough Time Sleeping if Saquon Goes to Philadelphi...

make it 8

After Tommy DeVito was injured in his first start of the season last weekend, the Giants' true backup Drew Lock was promoted to QB1 for a Thanksgiving game in Jerry World. As you may expect, the Giants were embarrassed on National Television, losing their eight consecutive game to the rival Dallas Cowboys.  Big Blue started off the game with a very solid offensive drive down the field that resulted in a Tyrone Tracy rushing TD. The clear game plan early on was to get the ball to Malik Nabers, who has recently made several off-field comments about not getting enough touches. Despite this, Dallas matched it with several strong offensive drives of their own. With Dallas' run game led by Rico Dowdle carrying a majority of the workload. Things went from bad to worse when Dexter Lawrence went down with an elbow injury, allowing for even wider holes for him to run through.  This was topped off by a DeMarvion Overshown pick six that gave Dallas a commanding lead and didn't a...

burnt cutlets

Well, we have a lot to catch up on since my last blog... Since my previous post, Daniel Jones went from QB1 to QB4 to practice safety to a free agent. As I have said for years at this point, the state of the Giants is the lowest it has been maybe ever, and things seem to be getting worse. The way this situation was handled made that even more abundantly clear, from top to the bottom the organization is being run poorly and that is portrayed on the field every Sunday. Yesterday, Tommy DeVito had his first start of 2024 after the Giants overlooked backup Drew Lock and decided to give TD the nod, yet another perfect example of how badly managed they are. Not rewarding hard work and dedication from their backup and instead going with the media darling in an attempt to sell merchandise and put butts in seats for six more weeks.  Despite this, DeVito didn't look as magical as he did in 2023, throwing for just 189 yards and no touchdowns. In his defense, he had no time to throw the ball b...
