burnt cutlets

Well, we have a lot to catch up on since my last blog...

Since my previous post, Daniel Jones went from QB1 to QB4 to practice safety to a free agent. As I have said for years at this point, the state of the Giants is the lowest it has been maybe ever, and things seem to be getting worse. The way this situation was handled made that even more abundantly clear, from top to the bottom the organization is being run poorly and that is portrayed on the field every Sunday.

Yesterday, Tommy DeVito had his first start of 2024 after the Giants overlooked backup Drew Lock and decided to give TD the nod, yet another perfect example of how badly managed they are. Not rewarding hard work and dedication from their backup and instead going with the media darling in an attempt to sell merchandise and put butts in seats for six more weeks.

Despite this, DeVito didn't look as magical as he did in 2023, throwing for just 189 yards and no touchdowns. In his defense, he had no time to throw the ball because without both started offensive tackles the Giants line looked depleted letting up four sacks and what felt like 100 pressures.

The game was an absolute blowout, with Baker and the Bucs running all over New York and winning in commanding fashion, 30-7. I have seen some really bad losses as a fan, especially in the last ten years, but this one is definitely towards the top. And it's not because they lost on a 60-yard game-winning field goal or dropped a game-clinching first-down pass, but because they didn't want to win.

It was evident from the jump that the Giants were not ready to play this game and didn't want to. From missed tackles to not jumping on fumbles, Big Blue just looked tired and lazy and I don't blame them.

As much as I love Brian Daboll and truly believe he is a great offensive mind, it's just not working. He has barely put up points all season despite the QB change and has had some big-time screw-ups. Daboll has clearly lost the locker room at this point, with both Nabers and Dexter Lawrence (arguably the team's two best players) coming out and calling the team soft. That doesn't sound like a team that wants to win, it sounds like a team that has given up on their coach.

With a quick turnaround this week, heading to Dallas to play on Thanksgiving, I don't see the Giants firing anyone until after Thursday. And although Mara has said Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are both safe I think both of those names could be on the list. I could also see offensive coordinator Mike Kafka getting the boot, so fans see some kind of changes being made, while still keeping Mara's "guys".

Either way, we are in for yet another disappointing November and December so everybody enjoy your Thanksgiving and maybe don't turn on your TVs.

NFL MOCK DRAFT 2026

DOM'S NFL MOCK DRAFT 2026 This 2026 Draft has all the makings of a memorable one. According to multiple sources, this could be one of the most trade-heavy draft days in recent memory. Even in an already unpredictable draft, projecting trades is borderline impossible, so I’ll mostly stick to the current order, mixing in a few where it makes sense.  Let's get into it. 1. Las Vegas Raiders: Fernando Mendoza- QB, Indiana It’s become a trend in my recent mock drafts that the No. 1 overall pick feels like a consensus no-brainer, and that continues here. All signs point to Mendoza as the choice. He’s an elite pocket passer and will have the benefit of learning behind recently acquired Kirk Cousins. The real question isn’t who they choose but how long it takes before Mendoza takes over as the starter. 2. New York Jets: David Bailey- Edge, Texas Tech  Last Wednesday, the Jets canceled their top-30 meeting with Bailey, leaving people confused and leading some to believe New York could b...

Houston is a Problem

In a wild NBA weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder won the franchise's first-ever championship, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles, and Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. As crazy as it sounds, the Durant news felt more important to me as an NBA fan than Game 7. The Thunder felt like a team of destiny all playoffs long, and after Haliburton went down, it all but solidified they’d become champs. But this article is focused on the next chapter of KD's career in H-Town. Yesterday afternoon, while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Kevin Durant found out he had been traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, five second-round picks, Jalen Green, and NBA “villain” Dillon Brooks. (image via theringer.com) This marks the end of the big three of Booker, Beal, and Durant in Phoenix—yet another failed superteam on KD’s résumé. But this move to Houston feels different. Durant, who admitted Houston was at the top of his preferred destination li...
