NFL NEW UNIS 2020

Ranking the New NFL Uniforms
By: Dom Moscatello

For the 2020 season, a handful of NFL franchises have released new uniforms. The Browns, Falcons, Patriots, Chargers, Colts, Rams, and Buccaneers have all announced or will announce new jerseys and helmets for the '20-'21 season. This list will not include the Indianapolis Colts because the only switch that they made was a slight one to the font on the numbers, giving it a more western kind of look. With all the additions this year, some hit and some completely whiffed, but one thing can be said confidently about the 2020 season, it will be a colorful one.

6. Atlanta Falcons- Coming in last on this list is the Atlanta Falcons. These jerseys look like they belong on a field with the Tampa Bay Vipers or the St. Louis BattleHawks in the XFL. The new home and away jerseys are quite ugly in my opinion, the Falcons have a great color scheme and could have made some of the best unis in the league with them, but they blew it. As for the alternates, the jersey where the red fades to black looks odd and almost childish to me. And some of the other white alternates don't even match the helmet or pants. The one positive they had is keeping the black throwbacks with the old helmet. That combination is one of my favorite in the NFL, I would have absolutely loved it if they went old school with all of the unis and this probably would have made them #1 or 2 on the list, but unfortunately, they botched the change of uniforms. As a whole though, it is truly disappointing to see how bad they messed it up for Atlanta. Overall grade: 1/5

5. New England Patriots-  The Patriots stayed in the house with their new uniforms for 2020 but added a little swagger to it. For New England's away jersey took out the grey and blue strips on the shoulder and replaced them with the red strips of their color rush jersey. As for the home unis, the Pats simply made their 2019 color rush uniforms into the ones they will wear at Foxboro 8 Sundays a year. I don't hate them but I don't absolutely love them. What I am most curious to see is what they do for their new color rush jerseys this upcoming season. Hopefully, we can see a reunion with the fan-favorite all red Pat Patriot jerseys. Overall grade: 2.5/5

4. Cleveland Browns- The Browns made an almost identical move to the Bucs, going back to their early 2010s jerseys as well. They took the word 'Cleveland' off of the chest of the jersey leaving it blank like in years past. They also went back to the old school style of brown/orange and white/orange strips on both home and away jerseys. Cleveland also added an additional alternate away that is all white, this uniform is clean and my favorite of the bunch. Last year, going into the season their color rush uniforms were all brown pants and jersey with orange numbers and an orange helmet. These were such a hit with fans that they made them their home jerseys for the rest of the season after game one. These unis are back in the color rush spot and still look extremely nice. Overall grade: 3/5

3. Los Angeles Rams-
The Rams were the last of the teams to release their new uniforms in 2020. This ranking was hardest for me because I am torn on whether or not these uniforms are actually good. Let's start with the negative. These away jerseys are atrocious. LA really dropped the ball with these, the light greyish-white color just does not work. They should have gone with regular white uniforms with yellow and blue numbers. In normal Rams fashion, their new helmets don't match their away jerseys as usual. and in addition to that, the numbers on the jersey look like soccer kits which turn me off to them. On the positive side of things, I do really like the home jerseys. Though they are similar to their alternates from last year, I like them a lot, and the numbers match the helmet well. The combination of yellow and royal blue on these is excellent. The thing that bothers me the most is the missed opportunity to bring back the all-yellow color rushes, the newer style of yellow is a very good look and would have been great as a full out uni, but all blue doesn't look too bad. If they had incorporated the all yellow the grade would be much better but this lands them at 3 on my list. Overall grade: 3/5

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-
The Bucs new did a very solid job on the new uniforms for 2020. They finally took away the gross alarm clack jerseys that all NFL fans hated. They replaced them with a set of unis that look remarkably similar to their earl 2010s jerseys but added a little touch to change it up a bit. The red home and white aways both look much cleaner than previous years' uniforms, and then they added an option to the away uniform that can have either grey or white pants. Their new color rushes are nice as well, they are all grey with white numbers, outlined in red. These match perfectly with their helmets allowing the whole thing to come together quite nicely. Overall grade: 3.5/5

1.  Los Angeles Chargers- The Chargers absolutely obliterated the competition with these new uniforms. LA revealed the new jerseys to go along with their new stadium in Inglewood. The unis take fans back to the old days with the classic powder blue and sunshine gold and took out the navy blue of the early 2000s. Their home powder blue jersey with yellow pants is a perfect match and the new aways are very clean as well. The Charger's color rushes are basically the same but are still top tier compared to the rest of the league in my opinion. They also added an all navy uniform to honor the colors of the LaDainian Tomlinson days which was a nice touch too. These are my new favorite uniforms in the league and some of the best I have ever seen on an NFL field. Overall grade: 4.5/5

NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025

DOM'S NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025 (Image via NFL.com) 1. Tennessee Titans:   Cam Ward- QB, Miami  The Will Levis experiment in Tennessee failed last season, which led to the Titans holding the first overall pick in the draft. The team needs a QB, and Ward is the best one available. Although he may be a bit of a project, Ward has the intangibles to become a star QB in this league. I love his confidence and composure in the pocket, as well as his elusiveness when he gets free. An A+ pick for the Titans. 2. Cleveland Browns:   Travis Hunter- WR/CB, Colorado Hunter might be the best prospect the NFL has ever seen. Not only is he an elite wide receiver, but he has also become one of the top shutdown corners in all of college football. Although it's still uncertain which position he'll be drafted as, he is worthy of a top-five pick, regardless. I think he...

Houston is a Problem

In a wild NBA weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder won the franchise's first-ever championship, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles, and Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. As crazy as it sounds, the Durant news felt more important to me as an NBA fan than Game 7. The Thunder felt like a team of destiny all playoffs long, and after Haliburton went down, it all but solidified they’d become champs. But this article is focused on the next chapter of KD's career in H-Town. Yesterday afternoon, while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Kevin Durant found out he had been traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, five second-round picks, Jalen Green, and NBA “villain” Dillon Brooks. (image via theringer.com) This marks the end of the big three of Booker, Beal, and Durant in Phoenix—yet another failed superteam on KD’s résumé. But this move to Houston feels different. Durant, who admitted Houston was at the top of his preferred destination li...
