DOM'S 2021 NFL MOCK DRAFT

1. Jacksonville Jaguars:
Trevor Lawrence- QB, Clemson
No need to explain this one, Lawrence has been projected to be the first guy taken in this Draft since 2018, an absolute no-brainer for the Jags.
2. New York Jets:
Zach Wilson- QB, BYU
The Jets trading Darnold to Carolina all but solidifies who they are taking at two. Zach Wilson is an absolute stud and if it weren't for Lawrence coming out this year he would be the #1 overall selection. Zach showed out on his Pro-Day and is perfect for New York and the Jets need him....badly.
3. San Francisco 49ers:(from MIA via HOU)
Mac Jones- QB, Alabama
The 49ers made a trade from the 12th spot in this draft all the way to the 3rd, they did this with a clear motive to take a QB. Sure Jimmy G is serviceable, but it appears that head coach Kyle Shanahan has plans to move on to a younger and cheaper quarterback. There is a lot of speculation that the Niners will take Trey Lance here instead but I think Shanahan likes Jones and what he could do in his style of offense.
4. Denver Broncos: **PROJECTED TRADE WITH ATL**
Trey Lance- QB, North Dakota State
The Broncos haven't had a real QB since Peyton Manning in 2016. They have the weapons to have a good offense and their defense is always solid but the problem has been under center. I like Drew Lock but he just has not performed and put up the numbers he should with the wideouts and backs he has at his disposal. The Falcons have been rumored to want to trade out of the 4th spot and I think Denver likes Lance enough to make the leap and grab a new QB. Plus Trey Lance is 6' 4" and everyone knows how much John Elway likes tall quarterbacks.
5. Cincinnati Bengals:
Penei Sewell- OT, Oregon
PROTECT JOE BURROW!!! Securing their QB should be the Bengal's main concern going forward. Last season before Burrow's gruesome season-ending injury, he was getting rocked by defenders game in and game out behind his below-average offensive line. Lucky for him, Cincinnati is in a prime position to select Pen Sewell who is as close to a sure thing there is when it comes to an offensive lineman. He will be a cornerstone to their line for years to come and will likely make a few Pro Bowls along the way.
6. Miami Dolphins:(from PHI)
Ja'Marr Chase- WR, LSU
Ja'Marr Chase is the best WR in this draft and the Dolphins need weapons for Tua. Chase's physical attributes should translate smoothly to the next level and allow him to be an impact player right away. I see him being a top receiver in this league even as a rookie, he's a sure thing and has the skill set to be a true #1 from the jump.
7. New England Patriots: **PROJECTED TRADE WITH DET**
Justin Fields- QB, Ohio State
WOAH! Big trade here. Patriots move up and take their future Quarterback. I think that Belichick likes Justin Fields and if he's there after the 6th pick, Bill is picking up that phone. They already have Cam Newton but I think that Fields could learn a lot from Cam who has experience being a mobile QB at an MVP level in this league.
8. Carolina Panthers:
Kyle Pitts- TE, Florida
I originally had the Panthers taking Mac Jones here but after trading for Sam Darnold they no longer need to draft a QB. I think Joe Brady at OC for Carolina will help make Darnold the QB we all thought he would be in 2018. Since they no longer need a quarterback they should go best available here which is Kyle Pitts. Pitts could be the best player in this draft and getting him at 8 is an absolute steal. Another new toy for Darnold and giving Carolina their best tight end since Greg Olsen.
9. Atlanta Falcons: **PROJECTED TRADE WITH DEN**
Jaycee Horn- CB, South Carolina
The Falcons are the most intriguing team in this draft. They could stay at four and take the hometown QB in Fields, they could take TE Pitts at four or they can trade back. They really could do anything, but they are an absolute mess on defense and if they do look to trade back like rumors have said, I think they move to 9. They would take a stud CB in Horn who will give them a franchise corner(stone) on defense.
10. Dallas Cowboys:
Patrick Surtain II- CB, Alabama11. New York Giants:
DeVonta Smith- WR, Alabama
Rumor has it that Giants head coach Joe Judge loves DeVonta Smith and wants to add to the collection of weapons the G-Men already have. I think Judge wants to make Daniel Jones's job as easy as humanly possible and adding a Heisman trophy-winning wide receiver would definitely help. Reports have also said that GM Dave Gettleman likes Micah Parsons, who would also fit great in NY. Adding a better pass rusher to an already impressive defense could be a great move for the Giants. But I believe that Judge thinks the moves they made in the offseason to help an already good defense are enough and that Smith could help Jones take a leap and make the Giants a competitive team in the NFC this year.
12. Philadelphia Eagles: (from MIA via SF)
Jaylen Waddle- WR, Alabama
If Jaylen Waddle does fall to 12 the Eagles should be ecstatic. Waddle is a tough player with blazing speed and would be a good fit for a gritty city like Philadelphia. The Eagles drafted JJ Arcega-Whiteside over DK Metcalf in 2019 and then in 2020, they took Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. They are 0-2 in picking wide receiver talent but if they land Waddle or even DeVonta Smith here that would change. This would give Hurts a number 1 guy right away and as a Giants fan, I hope that doesn't happen.
13. Los Angeles Chargers:
Rashawn Slater- OL, Northwestern
Slater is probably the second-best tackle in this year's draft and getting him at 13 would be a steal for LA. It is always important to protect the QB, but especially in the Chargers situation, protecting their young franchise quarterback is vital. They need a new left tackle and Rashawn Slater is a great choice this deep in the draft.
14. Minnesota Vikings:.
Alijah Vera-Tucker- OL, USC
Kirk Cousins was the 10th most sacked QB in 2020, and this year if they want to be successful they need to keep him upright. Clearly, the Vikings need some help on their offensive line. Vera-Tucker is a good big-body lineman who can really stuff things up. He can help give Kirk Cousins more time in the pocket as well as create holes for their Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook. Minnesota's offense could use a boost like this so this is an ideal situation for the Vikings.
15. Detroit Lions: **PROJECTED TRADE WITH NE**
Micah Parsons- Edge, Penn State
After watching all of the prospects in this draft, I saw Micah Parsons as the top defensive prospect. If he falls all the way to 15 the Lions should run that draft card to Goodell as fast as they can. Even if they don't trade the pick he could go at 7 with their original pick but I think New England wants Fields so the Lions will be picking her instead. The Lions need a lot of things but I think Parsons is a top talent and he fits Dan Campbell's "bit a kneecap off" mentality.
16. Arizona Cardinals:
Caleb Farley- CB, Virginia Tech
This offseason Arizona lost their long-time number 1 corner in Patrick Peterson who signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Cornerback was already a clear need for them prior to the departure of Peterson, so an obvious choice for them should be Caleb Farley. Farley was great in college but opted out of the 2020 season in order to prepare for this year's draft. He also had a minor back surgery which is another reason teams could be turned off a little. I don't think either of these things will affect him too much and still think he is a very solid corner especially this late in the first.
17. Las Vegas Raiders:
Jaelan Phillips- Edge, Miami
This pick maybe a little surprising, but that's what the Raiders do. In the last few years, Gruden and company have taken the guys they like and not necessarily the best or who outsiders think they need. I think Phillips is a first-round talent but should go in the 20s, yet I think he's a guy that would fit with the scheme in Vegas and probably someone that the Raiders would take at 17 to help rush the passer.
18. Miami Dolphins:
Najee Harris- RB, Alabama
Miami hasn't had a solid RB1 since the days of Lamar Miller and Jay Ajayi. They should look to bolster their backfield and take a little pressure off of Tua. Harris is the best running back in this class in my eyes and is the clear choice for the Dolphins at 18.
19. Washington Football Team:
Christian Darrisaw- OL, Virginia Tech
The Washington Football Team's choice is very interesting to me. They did sign Ryan Fitzpatrick but could still be looking for a young QB of the future. Or if Devonta Smith falls they could take another wide receiver. But I think they ride Fitz-magic out for the year and hear they take the best available lineman to protect him.
20. Chicago Bears:
Teven Jenkins- OL, Oklahoma State
The Bear's #1 need is easily QB. This offseason they signed Andy Dalton but I think they need to still address the position this year or next. If they don't trade up and take a QB like Fields or Lance if he falls, then they should go O-line. At this point, I believe Jenkins will be the best available. At least this way Dalton can be protected and they have a future starter at the offensive line position that can protect their next QB while also giving David Montgomery space to run.
21. Indianapolis Colts:
Rashod Bateman- WR, Minnesota
In February, the Indianapolis Colts traded with the Eagles to acquire their new QB in former first-round pick Carson Wentz. Wentz is reunited with his old offensive coordinator Frank Reich, when they were together in Philly Wentz had his best seasons and was even in the conversation for MVP. That being said Reich will do whatever it takes to get Carson back on track and that would mean adding weapons, and Bateman is a true weapon. He has speed, and great skill work and footwork. I really like Bateman and think whoever does take him will have a truly talented wideout. Reminds me a lot of Odell Beckham Jr.
22. Tennessee Titans:
Kadarius Toney- WR, Florida
With Corey Davis signing with the Jets in the offseason, the Titans need someone to line up next to AJ Brown at the wide receiver position. Toney is the perfect playmaker that could boost their offensive production immediately. He is capable of taking it to the house on every play from anywhere on the field. He could be the lightning-fast footwork-oriented receiver to the thunderous stronger receiver in AJ Brown.
23. New York Jets:(from SEA)
Azeez Ojulari- LB, Georgia
Azeez has been flying up draft boards for the last month or so. Honestly, I did not see him going in the first round until I watched more of his tape. He does have a lot of raw talent and I can definitely see the Jets taking chance with him at 23. I think he has a lot of talent and with a defensive coach in Saleh running things in Florham Park, I believe he can get the best out of Ojulari and mold him into a really good linebacker.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers:
Travis Etienne- RB, Clemson
The Steelers were 29th in rushing yards last year and it was a clear issue for their offense. Their offense was stagnant at times and with a running back like Etienne, it can make Big Ben's job easier. It should also open things up for JuJu and Chase Claypool as well and allow their offense to produce longer drives and more points, instead of being a one-dimensional offense.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars:(from LAR)
Trevon Moehrig- S, TCU
Jags got their franchise QB with the first overall pick so now they just need...everything else. Jacksonville needs a lot to be competitive again but I think their most glaring need is Safety. The best safety in the class is without a doubt Moehrig. Jacksonville needs to rebuild the secondary that once had Jalen Ramsey, AJ Bouye, Tashaun Gipson, and Calvin Pryor. The junior from TCU was disruptive in college and should be a defensive playmaker for years in Jacksonville.
26. Cleveland Browns:
Asante Samuel Jr. - CB, Florida State
The Browns are a team that does not have a lot of holes. I could see Cleveland going in a lot of different ways here. They could bolster their O-line, add to their already beastly defensive line or even go with another wide receiver to put behind OBJ and Jarvis Landry. But I think the Browns could use another corner and I predict that at 26. Samuel has NFL blood and was great in college. I loved watching him at FSU and expect that to carry to the league.
27. Baltimore Ravens:Terrace Marshall Jr.- WR, LSU
The Raven needs to get a #1 wide receiver for Lamar Jackson. And if they don't trade for Julio Jones they'll have to draft one. Terrance Marshall has a lot of potentials to be the guy in Baltimore. At LSU in 2019 he and Ja'Marr Chase mirrored Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry in their Louisiana State days. Chase was the number one so he would be the Odell comparison, and if Marshall can play like Jarvis, he would be exactly what the Ravens have been looking for.
28. New Orleans Saints:
Jamin Davis- LB, Kentucky
The loss of Alex Anzalone was a big one for New Orleans. In the draft, they need to fill in a gap in their linebacking core. Jamin Davis could fit right in and transition smoothly into that spot, I think he could be a key aspect to their defense. Its also entirely possible that the Saints get another weapon for Winston because of the loss of Emmanuel Sanders who went to Buffalo. But their offense is always good so I think they look to fill a big hole on defense here.
29. Green Bay Packers:
Elijah Moore- WR, Ole Miss
Finally... Green Bay has done nothing at all to help Aaron Rodgers when it comes to his offensive weapons. In the last few drafts, they have gone mostly defense, with the exception of last year where they took QB Jordan Love. The Packers need another wide receiver desperately and Moore would help them immensely. He is a strong-bodied receiver with a 4.3 40 time. He is only 5' 9" but he is talented enough to be taken in this early and would be a great pairing with Davante Adams on Green Bay's offense.
30. Buffalo Bills
Jayson Oweh- Edge, Penn State
The Bills have the 3rd to last pick in the first round and do not have a lot of team needs. This leads me to believe that they will go with the best available with the 30th pick. I think Jayson Oweh is a solid edge and he could be an impact player on Buffalo's d-line.
31.Baltimore Ravens: (from KC)
Jalen Mayfield- OL, Michigan
The Ravens traded Orlando Brown Jr to Kansas City for this pick, so now they need a new lineman. I have them taking a wide receiver with their other first-round selection so here they should take Jalen Mayfield who is a tackle from Michigan. Mayfield has not been talked about a lot as a first-rounder but has the potential to be a starter especially for a team like Baltimore with a need at OT.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
