Tight End Trouble

Evan Engram has been the Giants starting tight end since being drafted in the 1st round of the 2017 draft. But four and a half years later in October of 2021, I think I, and most other Giants fans, have seen enough. After rewatching some of the games from the last few seasons, it is clear to see some real issues that Engram has made for the Giants. I counted 7 times that a throw from Daniel Jones bounced off of Engram's hands and into those of an opposing defender for a pick. 7 TIMES!! Sure, perhaps 1 or 2 of them you can put on Jones, but being involved in that same situation so many times goes to show that this is not a coincidence. Engram's hands are very unreliable and he cannot be trusted with the football. Most Giants fans remember the heartbreaking loss the Giants took to the Eagles in October of the 2020 season. This game is remembered for being the game where Daniel Jones famously lost his footing and fell after a wide-open 80 yard run to the endzone. But as you may recall the Giants had that game won with about 2 minutes left. On third and nine, Daniel Jones threw Engram open giving him an easy ball to secure the victory, yet he was unable to make a catch that I'm quite sure my 6-year-old cousin would have made.

Before this Engram had dropped some passes but it wasn't part of his M O. Now each time Engram is healthy and on the field (which seems to be a rare occurrence), we can mark him down for at least one drop and a turnover. A lot of Giants fanatics, like myself, are sick of watching this man ruin games week in and week out. Week 3 of this year I went to the game against Atlanta, each time Engram stepped on the field he was booed followed by cheers when he was subbed out. This should show the higher-ups how the Big Blue Faithful feels. The G-Men did bring in some help this offseason and signed a big red zone target in Kyle Rudolph to help in the tight end room. In addition to that their third-string tight end, Kaden Smith, is underrated in my eyes and could be a sufficient starting tight end and an excellent backup to Rudolph. With that being said I think Engram needs to be shipped out. and He simply doesn't work with the Giants. Perhaps if traded to another team he could fix what's going on between the ears and start new with a clean slate. So Mr. Mara, Mr. Gettleman, or Mr. Judge if you reading this: GET HIM OUT please, and thank you.

Houston is a Problem

In a wild NBA weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder won the franchise's first-ever championship, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles, and Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. As crazy as it sounds, the Durant news felt more important to me as an NBA fan than Game 7. The Thunder felt like a team of destiny all playoffs long, and after Haliburton went down, it all but solidified they’d become champs. But this article is focused on the next chapter of KD's career in H-Town. Yesterday afternoon, while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Kevin Durant found out he had been traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, five second-round picks, Jalen Green, and NBA “villain” Dillon Brooks. (image via theringer.com) This marks the end of the big three of Booker, Beal, and Durant in Phoenix—yet another failed superteam on KD’s résumé. But this move to Houston feels different. Durant, who admitted Houston was at the top of his preferred destination li...

Sin City, Win City: The Knicks Hold the Cup

THE KNICKS HAVE WON A TROPHY! Last night, the Knicks took on the up-and-coming Spurs in the championship game of the third annual NBA Cup Tournament  in Las Vegas, and walked away with hardware. Sure, not the one that everyone who bleeds orange and blue wants to hold, but you still can't stop me from celebrating! (via @nyknicks on Instagram) After carrying the Knicks to the title game while averaging 33 points per Cup game , Jalen Brunson started slow against the elite defense of Stephon Castle. While Brunson didn’t dominate the scoreboard the way he had earlier in the tournament, he still finished with 25 points and made the shots that mattered most in the fourth quarter.  With that said, this game was ultimately won by New York’s bench . Brunson summed it up perfectly in his postgame interview, "OG Anunoby, Tyler Kolek, Jordan Clarkson, Mitchell Robinson, they played their ass off. Without them, we don’t win this sh*t.”  And yeah, he's absolutely right. Down 10 i...
