saw that one coming

The Giants once again got embarrassed due to an lackluster offensive performance by DJ and company. And because of that I am once again reluctant to write about this game because of how painful they have become to watch. With that said I'll do my best to get make this one quick and painless.

After yet again failing to score on the opening possession of the game the Giants gave the ball right to the Dolphins who took it down the field with ease. Miami's explosive offense ran it right down the Giants throats and scored almost immediately. New York was then forced to punt again the following drive, and the Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane took the third play of the next drive 76 yards to the house.

Despite a 102-yard pick six from Jason Pinnock before the half (which was the Giants only touchdown of the day) the Giants simply had no answer for the Dolphins. The only significant thing to happen for the Giants in the second half was the injury to Daniel Jones who left the game late in the third with a neck injury and did not return, With Tyrod Taylor under center the G-Men's offense was still just as stale and didn't score without #8. The game ended 31-16 Miami.

The biggest question to come from this game is how long will Daniel Jones be out. Although that is still unclear, for reference he also injured his neck in 2021 and that caused him to miss 6 games. During post game press conferences on Sunday he said he was "sore" but he felt "fine". He will undergo an MRI on Monday morning which should give us more information on the severity of his injury, but considering we've seen this injury shut him down for a season already, it's plausible that Big Blue could be without their quarterback for sometime.

On the positive side, the Giants defense finally was able to create turnovers and did it multiple times on Sunday. They had their first two interceptions from the year, one from Okereke and one from Pinnock, and Kayvon Thibodeaux was also able to recover a fumble. Those three made most of the plays for New York's defense throughout the afternoon combining for 16 tackles.

Thibodeaux has seemed much more comfortable the last few weeks and is finally getting consistent pressure off the edge. He has been one of the lone bright spots and is beginning to look worth the 5th overall selection.

In other news, the G-Men could be getting both Saquon Barkley and Andrew Thomas back within the next week or two. A classic two steps forward one step back situation if the loss of Jones is extensive. And although the schedule does lighten up after the Bills game next week, the Giants already stagnant offense is going to need their 40 million dollar man to stand a chance moving forward. And as a warning, next week's blog could be a lengthy rant because I'll be making the drive to Buffalo this weekend to watch what could a VERY long game. Pray for me.

NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025

DOM'S NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025 (Image via NFL.com) 1. Tennessee Titans:   Cam Ward- QB, Miami  The Will Levis experiment in Tennessee failed last season, which led to the Titans holding the first overall pick in the draft. The team needs a QB, and Ward is the best one available. Although he may be a bit of a project, Ward has the intangibles to become a star QB in this league. I love his confidence and composure in the pocket, as well as his elusiveness when he gets free. An A+ pick for the Titans. 2. Cleveland Browns:   Travis Hunter- WR/CB, Colorado Hunter might be the best prospect the NFL has ever seen. Not only is he an elite wide receiver, but he has also become one of the top shutdown corners in all of college football. Although it's still uncertain which position he'll be drafted as, he is worthy of a top-five pick, regardless. I think he...

Houston is a Problem

In a wild NBA weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder won the franchise's first-ever championship, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles, and Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. As crazy as it sounds, the Durant news felt more important to me as an NBA fan than Game 7. The Thunder felt like a team of destiny all playoffs long, and after Haliburton went down, it all but solidified they’d become champs. But this article is focused on the next chapter of KD's career in H-Town. Yesterday afternoon, while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Kevin Durant found out he had been traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, five second-round picks, Jalen Green, and NBA “villain” Dillon Brooks. (image via theringer.com) This marks the end of the big three of Booker, Beal, and Durant in Phoenix—yet another failed superteam on KD’s résumé. But this move to Houston feels different. Durant, who admitted Houston was at the top of his preferred destination li...
