here we go again...

Almost exactly a year ago today, I wrote my first Giants post game blog. It was after a game where the Giants came out flat at home in a season opener and didn't score a touchdown. And here we are in the same exact situation again.

The Giants opened their 100th season celebration with a home game against the Minnesota Vikings who were missing their rookie QB JJ McCarthy. This meant that Sam Darnold would be under center for the Vikes. And as someone who has not played to his potential throughout his career, the Giants defense made him look like a former third overall pick. He shredded through New York's secondary, completing 19/24 passes for 208 yards and 2 TD passes.

With that said, I don't blame the defense for this loss. As per usual, this one falls on the offense. After a full offseason of additions at the wide receiver position and promises of an offense that would take shots down the field, the Giants did just the opposite. Brian Daboll's first game calling plays was filled with short routes, RPOs, and screen passes. I wouldn't be opposed to this if they were winning or even in the game. But even in a blowout, New York only threw one pass over 20 yards down the field. While many have blamed this on the coaching, I put the blame elsewhere.

Everything wrong with this team right now falls on one man's shoulders, #8. Daniel Jones has been awful since the Giants gave him that $160 million contract. He even has more pick-sixes than touchdowns thrown since putting pen to paper. Pathetic.

I have been a Jones truther for years and there really is no more backing him up. He has a number one receiver, the line is much improved, and he still just can't get it done. He missed several wide open throws and looked even more scared than he usually does. Sure, this could just be him settling back in after the injury, but even with that a year six QB should be able to make better throws. If we see a repeat performance next week against the rival Commanders there must be a quarterback change. This can not go on any longer.

In the end, this team has just become embarrassing. LT, Eli, Cruz, Simms, and every other Giants legend in the house to celebrate the teams 100th season, and you lose by 22 to a team without their QB at home. This is a historic franchise that has now become one of the laughing stocks of the league. This is truly the hardest it's ever been to be a fan of the New York Giants. Changes need to be mad from the top down, until then we could be in for yet another long season.

NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025

DOM'S NFL MOCK DRAFT 2025 (Image via NFL.com) 1. Tennessee Titans:   Cam Ward- QB, Miami  The Will Levis experiment in Tennessee failed last season, which led to the Titans holding the first overall pick in the draft. The team needs a QB, and Ward is the best one available. Although he may be a bit of a project, Ward has the intangibles to become a star QB in this league. I love his confidence and composure in the pocket, as well as his elusiveness when he gets free. An A+ pick for the Titans. 2. Cleveland Browns:   Travis Hunter- WR/CB, Colorado Hunter might be the best prospect the NFL has ever seen. Not only is he an elite wide receiver, but he has also become one of the top shutdown corners in all of college football. Although it's still uncertain which position he'll be drafted as, he is worthy of a top-five pick, regardless. I think he...

Houston is a Problem

In a wild NBA weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder won the franchise's first-ever championship, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles, and Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. As crazy as it sounds, the Durant news felt more important to me as an NBA fan than Game 7. The Thunder felt like a team of destiny all playoffs long, and after Haliburton went down, it all but solidified they’d become champs. But this article is focused on the next chapter of KD's career in H-Town. Yesterday afternoon, while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Kevin Durant found out he had been traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, five second-round picks, Jalen Green, and NBA “villain” Dillon Brooks. (image via theringer.com) This marks the end of the big three of Booker, Beal, and Durant in Phoenix—yet another failed superteam on KD’s résumé. But this move to Houston feels different. Durant, who admitted Houston was at the top of his preferred destination li...
