there's nothing wrong in ohio

They won! The Giants got out Giants'd, winning their first game of the season in Cleveland.

The G-Men started the game in legitimately the worst way I have ever seen. Eric Gray fumbled the opening kickoff, giving the Browns a great starting field position and they scored a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. Quickly down 7-0, the Giants went three and out and looked to be doomed to go 0-3. But then a switch flipped on the defensive side of the ball for the Giants.

The pass rush was finally able to create pressure and create turnovers, with Sexy Dexy leading the way. Cleveland double team Dexter Lawrence gave guys like Kayvon, Burns, McFadden, Ojulari, and even Chatman the chance to get to the quarterback.

In addition to that, Daniel Jones had his best game since 2022, going 24/34 with 236 yards and two touchdowns. Most of this yardage went to Malik Nabers who went for 8 catches on 78 yards and two touchdowns. As most Giants fans have noticed Nabers looks a lot like rookie Odell Beckham Jr., but he might be even better, as he becomes the youngest wide receiver to score two touchdowns in an NFL game.

With that, Daniel Jones reminds me a lot of a 40-year-old Eli Manning who force-fed the ball to Odell in his final years in Giants blue. DJ's season is going to be completely contingent on how well Nabers performs considering the amount of targets he is already on pace for.

But staying on the positive side, the defense looked awesome and even against one of the best defenses and best d-lines in the sport, the offense was able to put up points. This looks more like the team I anticipated in the offseason, a stagnant defense and an offense that can put up at least 20 points.

The Browns looked like the Giants of the first two weeks, playing a swiss cheese zone defense and not getting anything done offensively.

It's good to get into the W column, but we can't celebrate for long as the 1-2 Dallas Cowboys come to town on Thursday for a battle for second in the NFC East on Amazon Prime Video.

Houston is a Problem

In a wild NBA weekend, the Oklahoma City Thunder won the franchise's first-ever championship, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles, and Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. As crazy as it sounds, the Durant news felt more important to me as an NBA fan than Game 7. The Thunder felt like a team of destiny all playoffs long, and after Haliburton went down, it all but solidified they’d become champs. But this article is focused on the next chapter of KD's career in H-Town. Yesterday afternoon, while on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Kevin Durant found out he had been traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, five second-round picks, Jalen Green, and NBA “villain” Dillon Brooks. (image via theringer.com) This marks the end of the big three of Booker, Beal, and Durant in Phoenix—yet another failed superteam on KD’s résumé. But this move to Houston feels different. Durant, who admitted Houston was at the top of his preferred destination li...

Sin City, Win City: The Knicks Hold the Cup

THE KNICKS HAVE WON A TROPHY! Last night, the Knicks took on the up-and-coming Spurs in the championship game of the third annual NBA Cup Tournament  in Las Vegas, and walked away with hardware. Sure, not the one that everyone who bleeds orange and blue wants to hold, but you still can't stop me from celebrating! (via @nyknicks on Instagram) After carrying the Knicks to the title game while averaging 33 points per Cup game , Jalen Brunson started slow against the elite defense of Stephon Castle. While Brunson didn’t dominate the scoreboard the way he had earlier in the tournament, he still finished with 25 points and made the shots that mattered most in the fourth quarter.  With that said, this game was ultimately won by New York’s bench . Brunson summed it up perfectly in his postgame interview, "OG Anunoby, Tyler Kolek, Jordan Clarkson, Mitchell Robinson, they played their ass off. Without them, we don’t win this sh*t.”  And yeah, he's absolutely right. Down 10 i...
