can't even tank right

Leave it to the Giants to lose the must win games and win the must lose ones.      While this week's Patriots-Giants game was a clash of the NFL's 31st and 32nd best offenses, it was also a battle for a higher draft pick. The Pats came into the week just ahead of the G-Men on the draft board, meaning a win for them would knock them out of the top five and a loss would boost them all the way to the number two or three slot. The Giants were already sitting at five and a loss would get them back into the top three. And as we have discussed, with this QB class this is they year to have a top five pick.      But that may not happen on DeVito's watch.     In what was a pretty boring punt fest, the Giants prevailed once again and Tommy Touchdowns had yet another solid performance with 200 plus family members in attendance. Although he did throw for three touchdowns this time, his ability to loft the deep ball ove...

tommy touchdowns

After last week, I did not think I would be writing another victory monday blog for the rest of the season yet here we are.     The G-Men entered the game as 9 point underdogs against their division foes the Washington Commanders. The sportsbooks, like most of us, did not expect much from the Tommy DeVito led Giants. But boy were they wrong.     New York started with a punting on their two opening drives in typical Giants fashion. Yet the following drive the defense forced a fumble which quickly led to points. A touchdown pass to Saquon Barkley who made an impressive catch in the endzone on a beautiful ball from DeVito. DeVito celebrates the touchdown like a true Italian      With five minutes left in the half, DeVito did it again throwing a deep ball to Slayton who was able to make a man miss with a nasty juke move, and take it in for a score. The Commanders went right back down the field the next drive and fin...

when it rains it pours

This one is going to be less about the game and more about the future of the Giants, which I think is the more glaring concern at this point. Also I just don't want to talk about losing by 24 to a team that just fired their head coach, offensive coordinator, and general manager.       Just when I thought things were finally looking up for the G-Men, they somehow took a turn for the worst. Even before the injury, DJ did not look like himself. He missed a few open throws and looked scared in the pocket. It didn't seem to me he was all the way ready to play, not physically, but mentally.      Then on the last play of the first Jones dropped back and tried to evade pressure from Raiders star defensive end, Maxx Crosby. Jones planted his right leg and it awkwardly buckled and DJ went down clearly in pain. That play ended the quarter yet after jogging the sideline during commercial break #8 was back on the field. The very next play h...
