seen that movie before

The Giants lost to the Cowboys in Primetime How many more times do I have to read that headline? I still don't understand why the NFL feels they have to put this "rivalry" on national TV every season when the Giants haven't shown up in a Dallas game in 8 years. But that is beside the point.  New York once again failed to score a touchdown, and the offense was again hard to watch. Coming into the game Dallas had a bottom-five rush defense and had been exposed all season. Meaning Daboll (hopefully) noticed this and wanted to make running the football a focal point. Despite this, Dallas had their best game against a running back allowing just 24 yards to Singeltary on 14 attempts. The Cowboys basically stacked the box every play and challenged number 8 in blue to beat them, but he couldn't, shocker. As we have seen time and time again, Daniel Jones just cannot get it done in primetime, especially when it's against the Cowboys. The play that displayed this the mos...

there's nothing wrong in ohio

They won! The Giants got out Giants'd, winning their first game of the season in Cleveland.  The G-Men started the game in legitimately the worst way I have ever seen. Eric Gray fumbled the opening kickoff, giving the Browns a great starting field position and they scored a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. Quickly down 7-0, the Giants went three and out and looked to be doomed to go 0-3. But then a switch flipped on the defensive side of the ball for the Giants. The pass rush was finally able to create pressure and create turnovers, with Sexy Dexy leading the way. Cleveland double team Dexter Lawrence gave guys like Kayvon, Burns, McFadden, Ojulari, and even Chatman the chance to get to the quarterback.  (image via giants.com) In addition to that, Daniel Jones had his best game since 2022, going 24/34 with 236 yards and two touchdowns. Most of this yardage went to Malik Nabers who went for 8 catches on 78 yards and two touchdowns. As most Giants fans have noticed Na...

same ole giants

Welp, they managed to do it again. For the second week in a row and what feels like the three hundredth time in the last 10 seasons, the Giants lost in the most embarrassing way possible. During these last ten seasons if the Giants did one thing right it was beating Washington, something they seemed to do every time the two teams played. But now we can't even get that right. The defense bent but did not break all game long. Letting up the long drive after the long drive but never allowing the Commanders to cross the goal line and allowing just 21 points on seven field goals. And although the offense could have done a lot more and had plenty of chances to do so, I put this loss on Brian Daboll. The Giants kicker Graham Gano was said to have a groin injury all week long. Despite this lingering injury, Brian Daboll decided not to call up their practice squad kicker Jude McAtamney. “We thought Graham would be okay...he got hurt chasing down a [runner]. It was a hamstring. He didn’t hur...

here we go again...

Almost exactly a year ago today, I wrote my first Giants post game blog. It was after a game where the Giants came out flat at home in a season opener and didn't score a touchdown. And here we are in the same exact situation again. The Giants opened their 100th season celebration with a home game against the Minnesota Vikings who were missing their rookie QB JJ McCarthy. This meant that Sam Darnold would be under center for the Vikes. And as someone who has not played to his potential throughout his career, the Giants defense made him look like a former third overall pick. He shredded through New York's secondary, completing 19/24 passes for 208 yards and 2 TD passes.  With that said, I don't blame the defense for this loss. As per usual, this one falls on the offense. After a full offseason of additions at the wide receiver position and promises of an offense that would take shots down the field, the Giants did just the opposite. Brian Daboll's first game calling play...

NFL 2024-25 Award Predictions

Offensive Rookie of the Year:   Caleb Williams Williams may have been drafted into the best situation ever for a number one overall pick. He has two thousand-yard receivers from last year, Keenan Allen and DJ Moore, as well as a receiver who had 1,400 yards in college last season, Rome Odunze. Additionally, Chicago signed D’Andre Swift and bolstered their offensive line in the offseason. Placing Williams, who could very well be the best prospect to ever come out of college, into this offense could mean great things for Chicago. And winning in Chicago as a QB earns you hardware. (image via Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports) Defensive Rookie of the Year:   Jared Verse Florida State's stifling defense in 2023 was led by Verse, who was first on the team in sacks with nine. Verse was taken with the 19th overall pick by the Rams to help fill the massive void left behind on the defensive line by the retirement of Aaron Donald. He and fellow Seminole defensive lineman Braden Fiske will ha...
